David Gareja

David-Gareji is a fascinating and historically significant monastery complex in Georgia established in 6 AD. Located in the Kakheti region, about 60-70 km southeast of Tbilisi, it's known for its rock-hewn architecture, with hundreds of cells, churches, chapels, and living quarters carved directly into the rock face1.
